Cuba’s minister of public health to discuss prevention of STDs, especially AIDS
Roberto Morales, Cuba’s Minister of Public Health, will discuss Cuba’s program for preventing sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV AIDS, at a Newsmaker news conference on Wednesday, July 1 at 10 a.m. in the Murrow Room.
A committee of independent experts assembled by the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization visited Cuba in March and analyzed the nation’s progress in eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV and congenital syphilis. Cuba is the first country in the world to initiate a formal validation process for these diseases.
Like all Newsmakers events, this news conference is open to credentialed media and NPC members, free of charge. No advance registration is required.
