Co-Creator of 'The Daily Show' plans National Press Club Book Rap on memoir, June 14

Lizz Winstead, co-creator of "The Daily Show," comedienne and insightful social critic, plans to discuss how she discovered her comedic voice which she details in her new book Lizz Free or Die at a National Press Club Book Rap in the NPC Ballroom on June 14 at 6:30 p.m.

From her childhood longing to be a priest, to her role in developing "The Daily Show" and her life today (complete with two difficult dogs), Winstead has tapped an outrageous and heartfelt vein of the all-too-human comedy. In a collection of autobiographical essays, Winstead vividly recounts how she fought to find her own voice, both as a comedienne and as a woman, and how humor became her most powerful weapon in confronting life's challenges.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Proceeds benefit the National Press Club Journalism Institute. No outside books will be permitted.
