Club photography groups discussed award-winning news photographs

The National Press Club's Photography Team recently collaborated with the Photography Roundtable, a photojournalism discussion group organized by Club member Marshall Cohen, founder of NPC's Photography Committee, on a lunch-time conversation with Associated Press photographer Alex Brandon.

Brandon (@alexbrandon) is a Washington, D.C.-based senior staff photographer for the AP, covering domestic and international events. He is one of an AP photo team to win a Pulitzer Prize for their compelling images captured nationwide in the aftermath of the George Floyd shooting in Minneapolis in May and June 2020.

The gathering was on April 26 at noon in the McClendon Room, with attendees purchasing their lunch choices from the Reliable Source menu. Brandon gave a visual presentation (naturally) of some of his work, and the three-time Pulitzer Prize winner talked about his adventurous career photographing hurricanes, presidential assignments worldwide, and the Washington beat covering happenings at the Capitol, the White House and Congress. He also took questions from the audience.
