Club member volunteers needed to review resumes during Career Day on March 20
The National Press Club Journalism Institute is seeking Club members who currently serve — or have recently served — in hiring or senior leadership roles within newsrooms, media companies, communications firms or related organizations to volunteer as resume reviewers during Career Day at the Club on March 20.
Among other programming, Career Day will offer one-on-one resume reviews for journalists and communicators navigating a rapidly changing job market.
Career Day organizer NPCJI believes your perspective as someone who evaluates candidates and makes hiring decisions will be "incredibly valuable to Career Day participants who are trying to position themselves strategically in today’s market."
Resume reviewers will:
- Meet individually with participants for 20-minute, structured sessions within a two-hour block(s)
- Offer practical, candid feedback on the individual’s resume, cover letter or portfolio.
Because this portion of the day is focused specifically on current hiring expectations and industry realities, priority will be given to volunteers with recent experience reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
If you’re interested, please complete this brief volunteer form for NPCJI to evaluate your background and availability. Their staff will follow up with scheduling details and guidance in advance of the event.
Please contact NPCJI Executive Director Beth Francesco with questions.
