Club employee describes life as persecuted journalist
The National Press Club's information technology service security manager Mohammad Mosaed knows all about being a persecuted journalist.
In this edition of Update-1, Mosaed talks with Board of Governors-Communicator member and Broadcast/Podcast Team liaison Debra Silimeo about his journalism career, which includes working as an investigative reporter in Iran and being targeted by government leaders for his coverage of the country's economic corruption. He explains what it was like to be arrested and released before fleeing Iran in early 2021, when he feared for his life and thought he was going to die.
Despite all he has been through, Mosaed discusses his hope that Iran's government will value and support a free press at some point in the future.
