Climate crisis is theme of 2025 NPC photo exhibit
The National Press Club will hold its annual members photography exhibit again this September, but with a theme for the show: the climate crisis. For the 26th year in a row, Club members are invited to display their best photography, as digital images or print photos, in the main 13th floor lobby, with depictions of the climate crisis highlighted this year.

The climate crisis is already upon us and reaching an emergency state worldwide. Changes in the climate from 200+ years of burning fossil fuels are causing extreme weather events, rising sea levels, melting icebergs, retreating glaciers, droughts and wildfires in many regions that rarely experienced them before. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) confirmed in 2023 that human activity is the main cause of climate change, with a 99 percent consensus of peer-reviewed scientific research two years earlier.
In this year's annual photo exhibit, the Club's Photography Team will feature images about the climate crisis. As in previous years, Club members may submit their original photography on any subject, but this year we plan to highlight images of climate change effects and mitigation efforts.
Digital images and print photos do not need to be taken recently, but they must be the original work of the members and not shown in previous annual exhibits. The Photo Team will issue complete instructions and specifications this summer.
