Celebrate Lunar New Year with a festive Chinese buffet

Ring in the Lunar New Year at the National Press Club with a special Chinese buffet at The Reliable Source on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The price is $45 for Club members, $55 for guests, plus tax and gratuity. (Reserve at [email protected].)

Enjoy a wide array of authentic regional dishes as we celebrate the rich culinary traditions of China and the Asian region in a festive Club setting. The evening will feature background music and specialty cocktails crafted to complement the flavors of the menu, for an additional $13 each.

Bing Xia will perform on the Chinese guzheng (zheng) — a traditional plucked zither with a history dating back more than 2,500 years. The ancient instrument, whose name reflects its long heritage (“gu” meaning ancient), has evolved from early 12-string versions to the modern 21–25 string guzheng and is considered the ancestor of many Asian long zithers.
