Books & Brunch to discuss "Endling" by Maria Reva at virtual meeting Oct. 18

The National Press Club Books & Brunch group will meet virtually at noon Saturday, Oct. 18, to discuss "Endling" by Maria Reva.

"Endling" tells the story of three Ukrainian women -- a research scientist who specializes in snails and two sisters in search of their activist mother --  who work for a mail-order bride business. As they plot a kidnapping to draw attention to the trafficking operation, Russia invades Ukraine. NPR called the novel a "virtuosic debut" for author Reva.

All members and their guests are welcome to participate. To receive a Zoom link, please email Fay Iudicello at [email protected] by Thursday, Oct. 16. Those who RSVP should expect to receive the invitation at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.

Planning ahead?  Books & Brunch will discuss "The Illegals: Russia's Most Audacious Spies and Their Century-Long Mission To Infiltrate The West" by Shaun Walker at its meeting via Zoom at noon on Saturday, Nov. 15.
