Bob Schieffer/Marvin Kalb to speak at Hottelet Memorial Service March 21

CBS News senior correspondent Bob Schieffer and veteran retired CBS correspondent Marvin Kalb will be among the speakers paying tribute March 21 at the National Press Club to legendary journalist Richard C. Hottelet, the last of the "Murrow Boys" who invented broadcast news during World War II.

Hottelet was hired at CBS by Edward R. Murrow in January 1944, and on D-Day he aired the first eyewitness account of the invasion of Normandy, flying in a bomber that attacked Utah Beach six minutes before H-Hour.

Joining Schieffer and Kalb at the podium beginning at 11:00 a.m. are Murrow's son, Casey Murrow, and Stanley Cloud, who co-authored "The Murrow Boys."

This memorial not only pays tribute to a groundbreaking journalist but also highlights one of the most significant eras in broadcast journalism history.
