Author Grinspan to join Books & Brunch discussion of "Age of Acrimony," July 20

The Books & Brunch group will meet virtually at noon, Saturday, July 20, to discuss "Age of Acrimony: How Americans Fought To Fix Their Democracy" by Jon Grinspan.

Grinspan, curator of political history at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, will join the discussion.  After he delivers an overview, Grinspan will answer questions on the book, his overview, and the political history collection.

In "Age of Acrimony," Grinspan explores the angry, polarized politics in the decades following the Civil War through the lives of congressman William "Pig Iron" Kelley and his progressive, activist daughter Florence "Florie" Kelley as they navigate the broken pieces of the American democracy.

To RSVP and receive a Zoom link, please email Fay Iudicello at [email protected] by Thursday, July 18. Those who RSVP should expect to receive the invitation at 9 a.m. on July 20.

Want to get a head start on the August book? Books & Brunch will discuss "North Woods" by Daniel Mason at its virtual meeting scheduled for noon on Saturday, August 17.
