American Legion Post to hear World War II author, Jan. 10

Alex Kershaw, author of "The Liberator," will discuss his book at the next meeting of American Legion Post 20. scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Kershaw's book is the true story of Felix Sparks, a Texas-born officer who fought in World War II from the beaches of Sicily to the gates of Dachau. The Liberator also became a Netflix series.

For those who cannot attend in person, the meeting also will be available via Zoom.

The Press Club asks that attendees pay for the meal in one bill, so attendees are asked to bring cash to cover the cost.

Post 20 has been affiliated with the National Press Club for more than a century. The post was founded at the urging of famed World War I Gen. John J. Pershing, an associate member of the Press Club.
