American Legion Post 20 postpones today’s meeting

The American Legion Post 20 meeting scheduled for today, Wednesday, Feb. 12, is postponed until Wednesday, March 12 due to weather. The guest speaker, Dr. Claire Jerry curator of the division of political history at the National Museum of American History, is expected to speak at that time.

The luncheon meeting takes place at noon in the Reliable Source’s McClendon Room at the National Press Club. All Press Club members are invited. The Club asks that Post 20 combine everything into one bill. Attendees are asked to bring cash. (The buffet costs $23 plus tax.) Cash collected in excess of the bill will be given to the wait staff as a tip. Guests are welcome.

The meeting is expected to be available via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. Zoom information will be released at a later date.

Jerry plans to discuss how the museum recorded and interpreted the events of the 2024 electoral season and how those events are reflected in exhibits.

American Legion Post 20 has been affiliated with the Club for more than a century. The post was founded at the suggestion of famed World War I General John J. Pershing, who was an associate member of the Club at the time.
