Chris Evans and Mark Kassen, founders of A Starting Point, will speak at a Jan. 29 NPC Luncheon event.

Chris Evans and Mark Kassen, co-founders of A Starting Point, will speak at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon on Monday, Jan, 29, on the importance of civics education and engagement for young Americans.

As the pivotal 2024 elections approach, the growing threat of misinformation is compounded by an increase in social media consumption. Founded to demystify politics, A Starting Point (ASP) is taking these challenges head-on, evolving over three years from a civic engagement resource to a trusted information hub for young Americans. Evans and Kassen will address ASP’s growing role in American civics education and new initiatives to engage first-time voters and young Americans in, and prepare them for, the 2024 elections.

Evans, an actor, producer and director, is known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kassen is an actor, producer, director and founder of Like Minded Media Ventures.

This luncheon is open only to National Press Club members and their guests. The event begins with lunch in the Ballroom at 12:30 p.m., followed by a fireside chat with National Press Club President Emily Wilkins beginning at 1 p.m. National Press Club members may purchase up to two tickets for the discounted $25 member rate. Additional tickets for non-member guests will be $45.
