On latest NPC Podcast, Club member Connie Lawn tells of nearly 50 years covering White House

She's the longest serving White House reporter, having covered that beat for nearly a half-century. And now National Press Club member Connie Lawn has published a new autobiography, "You Wake Me Each Morning: The Final Chapter." Lawn talks about the book and her distinguished career with veteran NPC member Irv Chapman in this edition of Update-1, the National Press Club's podcast.

Lawn discusses the time she met Nelson Mandela and he told her he listened to her radio reports while in prison. She also talks about how press coverage of the White House has changed over the years and what it’s like to be a freelance journalist.
