Kennedy Center festival hosts two plays by Club member Tony Gallo, Labor Day weekend

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Page-to-Stage Festival at will host two plays by longtime National Press Club member Anthony E. Gallo as Part of its 2018 Page-to-Stage Festival on Labor Day Weekend.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Seventh Street Playhouse will present Gallo's play "The Springfield Boys" between 1 p.m.and 3 p.m. in the Kennedy Center's Chinese Lounge. This two-act dramedy traces the historically significant relationship among Abraham Lincoln, his closest friend Joshua Fry Speed and his law partner William H. (Billy) Herndon.

On Monday, Sept.3, the Collington Players will present Gallo’s "Charleston Revisited" between 11 a.m. and 12 noon in the Israeli Lounge. People of the past appear in various forms in this two-act mystery-comedy set on Logan Street in the heart of the historic city of Charleston, S.C.
