Federico Klein

Federico Klein, a communicator member of the National Press Club since 2011, died March 21. He was 78.

A native of Argentina, he was a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and earned a degree from George Washington University after joining the Inter-American Development Bank in 1968 where he worked on economic development in Latin America. He retired as senior legal counsel and continued working as an advisor to the World Bank Group.

Klein was an avid gardener, naturalist, art and music lover, and antique collector.

Survivors include his wife Carolina, who is also a Club member, sons Federico and Christian, stepson Sebastian, and brother Walter. A funeral mass in his honor was held at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, D.C., on March 27.
