Music Education

Mr. Hamlisch, a world renowned composer, spoke about the importance of music education as part of the general school curriculum. He shared personal experiences from his days as a student and teacher of the arts in public school and how music helps create well-rounded individuals who have high self esteem. He also criticized those who denigrate the arts and are overly concerned with saving money at the expense of music education. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience.
