NPC Teams
Membership at the National Press Club creates real life connections beyond strings of emails or LinkedIn requests. Our Club teams present a welcoming space where members can connect with other members and get more involved with the Club. Teams offer opportunities to participate in the Club’s activities including social events, panels, trainings and writing for our members-only newsletter. Members’ contributions to these programs offer fantastic networking and leadership opportunities and a chance to gain other skills outside of day-to-day work responsibilities. Teams and team activities are reserved for National Press Club members only. Learn more about all our teams below!

Awards
Through our annual journalism awards, the National Press Club seeks to recognize and honor professional journalists who produced outstanding work in the preceding year for the public, either independently or as employees of editorially independent news entities. The Awards Team is a group of volunteers who facilitate the process from publicity to judging applications.
Communicators
National Press Club Communicators Team members help further the goals of the National Press Club through their participation in and support of activities that advance the cause of journalism and defend the freedom of the press. They also help tell the NPC story participating in and developing compelling programming and activities and fostering community between current and future members of the Club.
Events
The Events Team creates fun social and professional activities designed for members – and prospective members - to meet one another and interact as a community. Events include documentary screenings, topical happy hours and more. The team welcomes any members interested in working on social events.
Headliners
The National Press Club’s Headliners series is what many people think of when they think of the Club events. This team is for volunteers to secure guests to appear at the Club’s luncheons, newsmakers and book events – Participation in the team includes generating ideas, extending formal invitations, coordinating with Headliners Team Leaders on format and with Club staff on dates and room availability.
