Join veteran foreign correspondent Joe Kirwin Oct. 23 at 11:30 am as he details his podcast about an obscure WWII chapter when the conflict's most multinational, multiracial army fought to defeat Nazi and Italian Fascists on the Gothic Line in northern Italy.

Released to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, Kirwin will also explain how the Gothic Line story is a parable for our times that holds lessons for a frayed transatlantic alliance, the Ukraine war and an endangered western democracy.

Kirwin will be joined by American author Solace Wales who spent 30 years researching a book titled Braided in Fire: Black Gis and Tuscan villagers on the Gothic Line – a story that is still unfolding today.

A light lunch will be served following the presentation. The event is open to the public. Registration is required. For more info contact Joe Kirwin at: [email protected]
