Special Event
Historically, in many cultures, women have hosted Salon Nights to talk about the bigger questions of the day. These philosophical and intellectual conversations have fostered communities, ideas, epiphanies, partnerships, and so much more. At these Salon Nights, we will discuss topics ranging from art and creativity to community building and the future of journalism and communications.
Men, we appreciate you, but this meetup is just for those who identify as women.
Gillie Haynes, Facilitator, and Public Speaking Coach with her business, Simply Speaking, is also an Adjunct Professional Lecturer in the School of Communication at American University, will lead the discussion at the Salon. This Salon will focus on how a good leader is able to inspire and uplift other women in the best way. As participants, you will be asked to share what you've learned from the female leaders in your life and how it has shaped your career. We will also discuss how you will use what you've learned to encourage and support other women.
A sip and chat will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the seated dinner and discussion at 6:00 p.m.
