Prize-winning journalists Susanne Reber and Keith Jenkins, and Kathy Kiely of USA TODAY will lead a free and informative seminar on "Telling the Story with Multimedia."

The two National Public Radio journalists and Kiely will share tips and techniques for riveting an audience with sound, photography, videography and more. The 90-minute seminar will emphasize practical journalism tools useful for professionals and students alike.

Reber is NPR's deputy managing editor for investigations, working with beat and field reporters and collaborating with other non-profit news organizations. She previously led the investigations unit for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., where her work won top awards from the Canadian Association of Journalists and others.

Jenkins is NPR's senior supervising producer for multimedia, overseeing photography and videography for the NPR.org website. He previously spent 13 years at the Washington Post, where he was the photo editor for the paper's 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning series on Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Kiely is a congressional correspondent for USA TODAY. She has covered every presidential campaign since 1980. Prior to joining USA TODAY, she was a Washington correspondent for the Pittsburgh Press, the Houston Post, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and the New York Daily News.

Reber and Jenkins are on the faculty of the Georgetown University's Master of Professional Studies in Journalism program.

The presentation begins at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 11 a.m. at the National Press Club. There is no charge, but reservations are required at [email protected]

The program is the fourth in a year-long series of programs on “Investigative Reporting in the New Media Environment,” sponsored by the National Press Club’ Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library and with the generous support of the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation.
