Redefining Quality Care in Conflict and Post-Conflict Settings
Rossella Miccio and frontline medical professionals will lead an in-depth discussion on delivering high-quality healthcare in conflict and post-conflict settings. This conversation will explore leadership, trauma care, and the resilience required to sustain effective health systems in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
Hosted by award-winning journalist Hollie McKay, the panel will feature Rossella Miccio, President of EMERGENCY, alongside a trauma surgeon and a nurse with extensive experience in EMERGENCY hospitals. Drawing from work in Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, and Uganda, speakers will share firsthand insights on surgical excellence, nursing care, and long-term health system strengthening.
Join us for a dynamic in-person conversation examining what it truly takes to provide world-class care where it is needed most. The event will be held on May 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the National Press Club. More information and tickets are available at https://EUSAMAY12.eventbrite.com.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the panel discussion beginning at 6:30 PM. The program will be followed by a Q&A session, along with light refreshments and an opportunity to network.
