The National Press Club Journalism Institute is continuing its series of career office hours with two virtual sessions — on Oct. 21 and Nov. 18. Those interested in attending can sign up here.
These informal gatherings will provide resources and a sense of community to journalists at a time when many are experiencing layoffs, career shifts, and uncertainty.
These virtual meetings (Zoom) will address common career questions and offer:
- Cover letter tips
- Resume guidance
- Interview strategies
- Ideas for managing the challenges of the job search
The job search can be taxing — on both your time and energy — and every bit of encouragement helps. Join these small group discussions to support others in their search and network with media professionals who can help with yours.
“The job turbulence journalists are experiencing right now is disheartening, but we don’t have to go through this alone,” said Beth Francesco, executive director for the Institute. “Yes, journalism is a competitive field. But we share the challenges and can support each other through difficult times.”
Whether you’re currently employed or between opportunities, you’re welcome to join.
Register here. Registrants will receive a Zoom link the day before each session.
