President of Colombia to Speak at Club December 3

President Juan Manuel Santos will deliver remarks on Colombia’s economic, political and social transformation, including the historic peace talks under way with the FARC rebel group, on Tuesday, December 3, in the Holeman Lounge.

The president’s remarks will begin at 4:30 pm, followed by a question-and-answer session. The program will end at 5:30 pm.

The event will be open to credentialed press and NPC members only.

Santos was elected president of Colombia in June 2010. Prior to the presidency, Santos held numerous positions in government for nearly two decades, including serving as Minister of Defense and Minister of Finance. Santos was also Colombia’s first Minister of Foreign Trade.

He carried out graduate studies at the London School of Economics, Harvard and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts.
