Bestselling author and MSNBC reporter Daniela Pierre-Bravo will discuss her new book, “The Other” at a National Press Club in-person Headliners Book Event on Thursday, September 15 at 6 PM.

In “The Other,”  Pierre-Bravo shares her journey as an undocumented immigrant from Chile, working odd jobs to pay her way through school. Pierre-Bravo, always conscious of her status as an outsider, writes that she became a “chameleon” to fit into professional environments. Her book aims to help women of color and children of immigrants to reshape how they see themselves in the workplace by providing a framework to effectively advocate for their own vision of success.

In addition to her reporting on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Pierre-Bravo is a contributor and producer for NBC’s “Know Your Value” platform and co-author of “Earn It!.” A former Cosmopolitan magazine columnist, Pierre-Bravo has written on career advice, mental health, and financial wellness with an emphasis on women of color.

The program will include a question-and-answer session with Pierre-Bravo.  To submit a question in advance for the speaker, put THE OTHER in the subject line and email to [email protected].

Tickets cost $5 for members of the National Press Club and $10 for the general public.

Pre-ordered books will be available for pickup and signing at the event. Attendees will also be able to purchase books at the door.

Members, guests and visitors must show proof of vaccination at the entrance to the Club. This can be a physical copy of your vaccination card, or a photo of it on your mobile device. To read more about Club safety measures, please visit https://www.press.org/safetyfirst.
