Professional Development

The media landscape continues to change and evolve. The pressures to do more with less, attacks on the credibility of journalists, and distrust of reporters in general have made the job of today’s journalists even more difficult. And then throw in a global pandemic, making the job of being a healthcare reporter even more challenging.

On Thursday, May 20, from noon to 1 p.m., the National Press Club's Communicators Team will host a Lunch and Learn program with leading healthcare professionals to talk about how their jobs have evolved and what they are looking for from communicators. The discussion will be moderated by NPC member, Karen Addis, APR, president and CEO of Addis Communications, a strategic communications agency that specializes in health and science.

National Press Club members: Free
Non-members: $15, which goes to the NPC Staff Support Fund to assist NPC journalists who have been furloughed due to COVID-19.

Panelists:
•    Jacqueline Howard, CNN Health Reporter
•    Scott Hensley, NPR Health and Science Writer/Editor
•    Tina Reed, Axios Healthcare Editor
•    Ferdous “Danny” Al-Faruque, Medtech Insight Senior Reporter
