WASHINGTON – President of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) John Gage will discuss current labor-management struggles and what they mean not just for public-sector workers but for all Americans. Gage will speak at a National Press Club Newsmakers press conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, in Suite 480 (Broadcast Operations Center) of the National Press Building, at 529 14th St. N.W., Washington, D.C.

As national president of the AFGE, Gage stands watch over the rights of 625,000 federal and D.C. government employees who belong to the nation’s largest union for federal government workers. Gage has led AFGE since 2003 and also is a vice president of the AFL-CIO, which represents 12.2 million employees across the country.
