Besides the usual fabulous food, you'll soon have another reason to dine at the Club's Fourth Estate restaurant.
Beginning Wednesday, March 6, jazz is coming.
It will be the first in the continuing "Jazz Night" that the restaurant will host, in conjunction with Blues Alley, Georgetown’s iconic home for jazz, on the first Wednesday of every month
Music will be provided by musician-members of the renowned Blues Alley Youth Orchestra. These musicians and orchestra alumni are graduates of America’s top music conservatories and among the most talented instrumentalists in the Washington, D.C. area.
Come hear the Oscar Peterson or Joshua Redman of the future.
The musicians will play during dinner from about 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. as background music. There is no cover charge, and the musicians will be available for questions and answers from dinner guests after the sessions finish. The musicians who play every month will vary, as will the music performed.
The Fourth Estate will offer its seasonal dinner menu and occasionally offer menu specials specific to Jazz Night. There will also be unique offers from Blues Alley for performance discounts and other jazz related items.
Please phone 202-662-7638 for reservations, which are requested, but not required. The Fourth Estate menu is available on the Press Club website.
The Blues Alley Youth Orchestra is one of three non-profit programs administered by the Blues Alley Jazz Society (“BAJS”) in Washington, DC. Both the orchestra and the society are named after their landmark nightclub namesake. BAJS has been in existence for more than a quarter of a century and their mission is to promote youth, jazz and education here in our Nation’s Capitol. The orchestra is comprised of talented local student musicians and the alumni are graduates of every major music conservatory in America. The orchestra is under the music direction of Mr. Michael Bowie. Additional details can be found on-line at www.BluesAlley.org.
