Date:

October 27 and 28, 2022

9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location:

The National Press Club

529 14th Street NW, 13th Floor, Washington, DC

Context:

While there is great work underway for religious freedom worldwide, the MENA region has high rates of persecution. Women and minorities suffer the most. The situation on the ground shows a strong need for an ACTION PLAN involving multi-faith solutions to help empower IRF advocates.

Vision:

The IRF Forum is an inclusive training event where leaders will come away feeling equipped with a tool kit of options to help advance gender equality, peace building and religious freedom in the Middle East and beyond. The forum will offer a film festival, ted-style talks, strategy workshops, pitch fest and working groups focused on countries with high restrictions on religious freedom. Our vision is to develop an allied network and ACTION PLAN, highlighting women advocates, media and innovation to build social movements for international religious freedom. We intend to host a similar event in the MENA region afterward.

Objectives:

·       Build relationships

·       Explore challenges and opportunities

·       Share practical tools and resources

·       Highlight the power of media and tech

·       Identify IRF Champions

·       Foster IRF movements for the MENA region.
