iPhone Reporting - Friday, March 30, 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Bloomberg Classroom
A laptop, a recorder, a Blackberry a cellphone, an aircard, a camera - wouldn't it be great to simplify your reporting? Come learn how to do it all with just one small device. WTOP reporter and iPhone whiz Neal Augenstein will offer a "how to" session at the NPC's Journalism Institute on everything from reporting to recording with the popular phone that does much more. Learn the power of smartphone reporting with this interactive class - be sure to bring your phone! You'll get: an overview of smartphone reporting, tips and technology recommendations, suggested apps and resources, a hands-on walkthrough and time for Q&A. Augenstein has worked as a reporter for local WTOP radio since 1997 and says he is the first major market radio reporter to do most of his work on an iPhone. He's also a prolific user of social media. See his website at: http://iphonereporting.tumblr.com/
The class is free for members, $10 for non-members, but space is limited so you must reserve. To RSVP, please e-mail [email protected] or call 202-662-7523. Sponsored by the NPC Journalism Institute’s Professional Development Committee.
