International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) Americas 2023
Partnering for people-centered and future-ready disaster resilient infrastructure
The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) is organizing the first regional conference ICDRI Americas, in partnership with the US Government.
ICDRI Americas 2023 will convene countries, organizations, and institutions from the Americas to deliberate on the opportunities for collective action across sectors and stakeholders towards climate and disaster resilience of infrastructure in the region. Informed by the theme, ‘Partnering for people-centered and future-ready disaster resilient infrastructure’, the conference will aim to identify emerging regional priorities, and showcase local innovations and solutions on disaster resilient infrastructure. The discussions will enable peer-to-peer exchange and knowledge sharing on good practices and create opportunities for replication and scale up of existing solutions. The conference is expected to provide direction to a prospective plan of action to initiate joint collaborative efforts on disaster and climate resilient infrastructure transition in the Americas.
CDRI is a global partnership of 34 national governments and 7 international organizations including UN agencies, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and knowledge institutions, launched at the 2019 United Nations (UN) Climate Action Summit in New York. The Coalition aims to promote the resilience of new and existing infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks, in support of sustainable development.
