NPC Book Event

Award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa will discuss her book “Once I was You: A Memoir of Love and Hate in a Torn America," and the role she feels the Latinx community played in the 2020 election at a virtual Headliners Book event on Thursday, November 12 at 4 p.m. ET.

In "Once I Was You," Hinojosa tells the deeply personal story of her own experience moving to the United States from Mexico, and delivers a powerful indictment of U.S. immigration policy under both Democratic and Republican administrations.

This one-hour program will stream live on the Club’s website and YouTube Channel, and is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge.  Viewers can send their questions for Hinojosa in advance or during the live program via email to [email protected].

Hinojosa is the anchor and executive producer of the Peabody Award-winning weekly NPR show Latino USA. In 2010, she founded Futuro Media, an independent nonprofit organization that produces multimedia content from the perspective of people of color. She also is the co-host of In The Thick, Futuro Media’s new political podcast.
