Keep up with the latest technology for reporting in the digital age. Google News Lab Teaching Fellow Maggie Farley will teach you to use a broad range of Google tools, including Google Search, Google Alerts, Google Scholar, Google Permissions, Google Maps, Google Translate, Google Trends. This National Press Club Journalism Institute program will be held in conjunction with Google News Lab on Wednesday, August 14. The program will begin promptly at 10 a.m. in the Bloomberg Room and end at 11:30 a.m. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m. Registration is required. The cost is $5 for members of the National Press Club and $10 for non-members. Register below. This is a hands-on workshop. Please bring a laptop. About the instructor Maggie Farley, a former Los Angeles Times foreign correspondent, is now working with Google News Initiative to help journalism thrive in the digital age. She travels around the country to small and medium newsrooms to train journalists in tech tools to enhance their reporting: verification, data visualization, and multimedia skills.
