Synopsis:

The English-speaking nation of Ambazonia, also known as Southern Cameroons, consists of what is currently called the North West and South West regions of the current predominantly French-speaking Republic of Cameroon. Home to 8 million people (25% of the inhabitants of present-day Republic of Cameroon), Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia accounts for 60% of the GDP. The United Nations sanctioned the creation of a union of "two states equal in status" bringing together the former trusteeship territories of French Cameroun (independent from France on 1st January 1960) and of the United Nations British Trusteeship Territory of Southern Cameroons (independent on 1st October 1961).

Ambazonians now demand simply to recapture what was once theirs – independence.  Since the forced annexation of 1961 and the illegal abrogation of the Federal mandate, although formerly an independent nation, Ambazonians/South Cameroonians have been politically and economically marginalized.  The marginalization has intensified and recent violence in the region since 2016 has resulted in a brutal and murderous crack-down by the Cameroonians and the long-term strongman President of Cameroon, Paul Biya in response to the Ambazonian's quest to regain independence.

This Forum will explore the various aspects of the Ambazonian Independence movement and the optimal non-violent paths to Ambazonian Independence and termination of the ongoing genocide of its people. The Forum will shed light on the horrendous genocidal massacre of the English-speaking peoples of Ambazonia/Southern Cameroon by the French Cameroonian government of Paul Biya, with the tacit or express acceptance of these crimes against humanity by the Republic of France.
