FEMA Administrator Fugate to Discuss Planning for Catastrophic Disasters; Hurricane Season
(Washington, DC) – Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Craig Fugate will speak at a National Press Club Newsmakers press conference at 1:00 p.m. EDT., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in the National Press Building, 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C. As the United States faces significant flooding, tornado and wildfire events and the upcoming hurricane season, Fugate will focus on how FEMA and the federal government have been planning for catastrophic disasters and applying those plans to the various hazards the nation is facing. Fugate will also discuss the agency’s efforts to use social media to better engage and support the public and its work with the private sector.
