Special Event

Join us for a lively discussion with Dana Tai Soon Burgess, poet laureate of Washington dance and founder of the DTSB Dance Company. The one-hour program hosted by the International Correspondents Committee will be moderated by National Press Club President, Lisa Matthews.

Burgess will talk about the role of modern dance in the current social justice conversation, as well as how dance can be used as a tool of soft diplomacy. Burgess will share his experience as a cultural ambassador for the U.S. State Department for over two decades.  The program will include a video demonstration and a question-and-answer session.

Burgess is one of only a handful of Asian-American performing arts leaders in the United States. May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Zoom information will be sent to registered attendees prior to the event.
