George Clooney Displays Arresting Acting Chops in "The Descendants"; Dinner and a Movie, Thursday May 3
Members of the National Press Club are invited to watch the Oscar-nominated film "The Descendants" starring George Clooney at a Dinner & a Movie event Thursday, April 5 at 7 p.m. in the Reliable Source's McClendon Room.
Dinner and drinks will be available for purchase from the Reliable Source. Member and their guests may attend free of charge.
George Clooney recently visited DC and was arrested while protesting outside the Sudanese embassy. His most recent film, "The Descendants," is a complete departure from Clooney's celebrity and activist life, and his portrayal of a grieving husband has been called one of his best performances by critics. Directed by Alexander Payne, Clooney plays Matt King, a Hawaiian land baron who takes his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the young real estate broker, who was having an affair with his wife before her misfortune.
