Creating effective veteran policy: Using international experience. Part 2
Join us for the second conference on veteran policy in Ukraine, featuring collaboration between experts from Ukraine and the United States. The participants will discuss medical, psychological, and socio-economic adaptation of war veterans in Ukraine, with Vitalii Hersak, head of the NGO “Vilni ta Virni” presenting the action plan “Building Bridges: Veteran Policy in the U.S. and Ukraine” that outlines pathways to enhance cooperation between the United States and Ukraine in supporting veterans.

9:00 AM – 9:45 AM – Panel 1: Long-term strategies of medical and psychological support for war veterans and the tasks of the state in their implementation
The experience of rehabilitation and adaptation of US war veterans will reveal the need to develop and implement long-term state strategies for medical and psychological support of veterans in Ukraine.
This approach involves the development and implementation of programs of medical and psychological care and assistance for war veterans throughout their post-war lives.

10:00 AM – 10:45 AM – Panel 2: What should be the veteran's policy in solving the socio-economic problems of the demobilized military
It is proposed to consider the list of socio-economic problems faced by veterans in peaceful life as well as to understand the state's approaches to the formation of veteran policy in this sector, using the example of the United States. For Ukraine, it will be proposed to discuss the creation of a state veterans' fund, which would finance the solution of the social and economic needs of veterans.
