The National Press Club Broadcast Committee will hold the next in its series of Legends of Broadcasting Dinner with guest Jim Lehrer on Tuesday, March 29.

Lehrer, former executive editor and anchor of the PBS NewsHour was the 2011 winner of the Club's Fourth Estate Award. He stepped out of the anchor chair in 2011 after 36 years and 8,000 boadcasts. In addition to his broadcast career, which included moderating a dozen presidential or vice presidential debates, Lehrer is a prolific author of 20 novels, two memoirs and three plays.

Seating in the Winner's Room will be strictly limited to 30 people. A cash bar reception will begin at 6 p.m. with introductions and dinner following at 6:45. Lehrer will make remarks and open the floor to an informal Q&A session to end by 8:30.

Cost of the fish or steak dinner dinner is $55 for Club members and guests. Broadcast Committee members will have first call on tickets before an invitation is sent to the entire Club membership on March 7.
