We invite you to join us in person for our Addressing Unfinished Learning in DC hybrid event!
EmpowerK12 is hosting an event on November 16 in conjunction with the release of an updated brief on unfinished learning from the 2020-21 school year. The study utilizes DCPS and charter data from the spring (MAP, iReady, Reading Inventory, etc.) to examine trends in fall-to-spring growth and differences in achievement compared to spring 2019.
Deputy Mayor of Education Paul Kihn, Acting State Superintendent of Education Dr. Christina Grant, and Patricia Brantley, Chief Executive Officer, Friendship Public Charter Schools will serve on a panel to reflect on the brief and share how schools are accelerating student wellbeing and academic growth.
We hope the event will transition the discussion from the negative effects of last year to discuss plans for a more positive, bolder future for DC schools. The panel will identify bright spots from last year and talk through their work to support students this year.
