AACR to Host a Policy Briefing at the National Press Club to Unveil 12th Annual Cancer Progress Report

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)—the world’s first and largest professional organization dedicated to advancing cancer research and its mission to prevent and cure cancer—will host a policy briefing to unveil the AACR Cancer Progress Report 2022 at the National Press Club on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 12-1:30 p.m. There will also be a virtual livestream of the event.

Now in its 12th edition, the AACR Cancer Progress Report showcases progress against cancer from the past year and underscores the importance of robust, sustained, and predictable growth in funding for the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute. This year’s report will provide the most up-to-date cancer incidence, mortality, and survivorship statistics; highlight how recent advances across the clinical cancer care continuum are helping cancer patients and their loved ones; and address ongoing challenges, such as cancer health disparities and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer research and care.

Speakers will discuss recent advances in basic, translational, and clinical cancer research and their personal experiences as researchers, physicians, and patients.
