Representative DeLay called for a candid conversation between two competing world views in the United States: the "cultural elite" and citizens that believe in "moral and universal" values. He cited the recent court ruling which deemed the Ohio state motto unconstitutional. He also said that the "fashionable" elite was attempting to overturn core American values.
