Campaign Finance Reform

Senators McCain and Feingold spoke about S. 1219, the legislation which they offered during the 104th Congress and continue to promote for campaign finance reform. They examined various aspects of the bill, including the elimination of contributions to parties rather than candidates, limits on political action committee donations and free television time for all candidates to speak to voters, and the political context of campaign finance reform. After their remarks, they took questions from the audience.
