The National Press Club is a private club for journalists and communications professionals and has been a Washington institution for more than a century. At the same time, the Press Club is a world-class conference and meeting facility that hosts thousands of events each year for sophisticated clients from around the globe. Our professional staff is expert at coordinating banquets, receptions, news conferences, meetings, symposiums, webcasts and satellite media tours. From our AV team to our Broadcast team to our online staff to our photographers, we are ready to help you present your message to the audience in the room, across the country and around the world.
The Club hosts two restaurants, the Fourth Estate and Reliable Source. The 14th floor's Reliable Source is where you'll find the convivial atmosphere of the Members' Bar and Grill. It features a private meeting space, the McClendon Room, which can be booked for events by members only. The 13th floor's Fourth Estate is open to the public and serves stylish American food. Executive chef Susan Delbert uses locally grown produce and meats in a menu that elevates taste above trendiness. The atmosphere is ideal for a meal with a source or a sweetheart.
The revenues generated from our event business and from member’s dues and fees are used to support the Club’s ongoing efforts to enhance the profession of journalism. This is done primarily through the efforts of our 501 C-3, The Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library at the National Press Club. The Library provides classes, training, panel discussions and other professional development activities to active journalists in transition, as well as to young journalists and journalism students.
