Valentine's Day festivities in Reliable Source bring friends, family together

The National Press Club celebrated the day of St. Valentine with sparkling wine, roses and background music from a violin soloist, anchored by a rather sensuous prix fixe meal for diners in the Reliable Source restaurant on the 14th floor of the Club.

Club member Concepcion Badillo-Debusmann posted on her Facebook account from the Reliable Source on Valentine's Day:

"February 14th doesn't have to be a holiday for two, it can be a family day for four ❤️ 🤗

Just like in today's world, red roses don't have to be exclusively for women. The press club rocked dinner and handed out flowers🌹🌹 to everyone!"

Valentine's Day dinner Reliable Source 2024She was there with her husband Bernd Debusmann and son Bernie Debusmann, both also Club members, and Bernie's wife, Club member Sarakshi Rai (all shown here, with Concepcion second from right) -- and the photo she posted and also provided to the Wire shows that Bernd was happy to wear a rose behind his ear, at least long enough to have the image committed to posterity.

She proclaimed to restaurant manager Mesfin Mekonen that the dinner "was very nice and the plates were so beautiful. ... it was really a great evening with roses and the violinist."

The meal had a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert, captured also by Concepcion (below). The appetizers resemble mini sculptures, the desserts are works of art. How could anyone bear to bite into them? No doubt, the reward to the taste buds outweighed any dismay at sullying the display!

Stay tuned for the March special meal event, with details coming soon.
