Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani left the door open for a possible run for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination after a hard-hitting speech to a sold-out National Press Club luncheon on Sept. 6, 2011. In analyzing the state of U.S. security in the decade following the 9/11 attacks, he praised President Barack Obama for capturing and killing Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, he attacked Obama's policy of setting dates for troop withdrawals from Afghanistan and Iraq.
