Representative Pelosi and Senator Durbin spoke about the upcoming State of the Union Address and likely Bush administration proposals in the coming year. They focused on Democratic policy goals, outlined their criticisms of past and present administration policies, and offered alternative policies on a variety of areas. Among the issues they addressed were health care, employment policy, education, lobbying reform, domestic security, and foreign policy. Following their remarks they answered questions submitted by members of the audience.
