Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange to Provide New Roadmap for Health IT Industry at Newsmaker

Dr. Louis W. Sullivan, former Secretary of Health and Human Services and creator of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), will release what is expected to serve as a new roadmap for the health IT industry at a National Press Club Newsmakers news conference on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 10 a.m in the Zenger Room.
Release of the 2013 WEDI Report comes on the 20th anniversary of the group’s original report. WEDI is listed as the leading authority on the use of health information technology to improve healthcare information exchange in order to enhance quality of care, improve efficiency and reduce costs of the healthcare system.
WEDI’s new report focuses on areas including telemedicine, patient engagement, new payment models and integration of clinical and administrative data systems.
