Video illustrates how to use new security gates at National Press Club

The National Press Club’s new security gates will “go live” on Wednesday, April 19. Here's a video to guide you on how to use the new gates:

Resident members still can enroll for either the smartphone app or a fob in the Membership Department. There is a $75 replacement fee for lost fobs.

Non-resident members should contact the Membership Department ahead of visiting the Club to get a access code to scan at the gates. In the event you cannot notify us ahead of a visit, please be sure to have your membership card on hand. The staff will work with you to ensure you can access the Club.

For all members, ahead of your guests visiting the Club, please inform the Membership Department and we will send you a QR code, which you can forward to your guests to scan at the gates. If you or your guests do not have access to email or a smartphone, we will work with you to enter the Club. For last-minute guests, you can meet them at the front desk, so they can gain access.

Credentialed media, including camera crews, who are not Club members, can show their credentials for admission. We can scan a Capitol Hill credential to use to enter the gates for future visits.

We thank the more than 500 members who have enrolled for security access so far. Your cooperation will help us move to a more secure facility, improving the value of your membership and offering more protection for our members, guests and staff.

The Membership Department will work to ensure you and your guests can access the Club. Please direct questions to [email protected] with “Security” in the subject line or call (202) 662-7525.
