Update-1 podcast reviews the Utah primary and its 2016 election impact

Update-1, the National Press Club’s podcast, continues its 2016 presidential election coverage by focusing on Ted Cruz’s triumph in the Utah Republican presidential primary.

Is it possible that aversion to Donald Trump may make Utah go Democratic in the general election? What impact will Trump’s behavior have on the Intermountain West in the fall?

Exploring these questions in the podcast is Art Swift, managing editor at Gallup poll, and Tommy Burr, Washington correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune and current Club president.

Swift and Burr also discuss the influence of Utah native and 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in the Utah primary and how this could be a test run for a potentially contested convention in July. Another topic is whether Bernie Sanders's big victories in Utah and nearby western states were too little, too late.

Update-1 is produced by Mike Hempen with assistance from Adam Konowe. The podcast can be heard on the Club website by clicking on “multimedia,” then “podcast.” It also is available on iTunes, Sticher and Tunein.
